Pay Grade/Pay Range: Based on Qualifications
Department/Organization: 208185 - Brewer Porch Children's Center
Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with on-call rotation as assigned.
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients. The RN reviews physicians' orders for accuracy and authorization prior to implementing them; prescribes and initiates nursing treatment through direct, assisted or delegation to other staff.
Additional Department Summary: This position is assigned to the Brewer's Porch Children's Center located in Tuscaloosa.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent. State of Alabama valid/current Registered Nurse License.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Final candidates who are not current Brewer-Porch Children's Center employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician or other qualified medical professional. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment. Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient centered high quality customer friendly service. Understanding of the need for strict confidentially of protected health information and the requirement to follow HIPAA regulations at all times. Punctual and reliable.
