Job Summary: The Workforce Development Coordinator conducts analysis of employee data to identify trends and facilitate strategic workforce planning.
Additional Department Summary: The Workforce Development Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating workforce development initiatives, coordinating training programs, and supporting the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for supporting the professional growth and development of our workforce. Candidate will coordinate and assist in the execution of our team's efforts to develop sustainable and durable workforce partnerships in the region. This includes analyzing labor demands and supply side dynamics, building partnership models and approaches, marshaling internal resources and collaboration with external partners. This role will also provide assistance to existing initiatives. Candidate may engage with collaborative research programs of senior faculty in the areas of sciences and engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the administrative coordinator for various existing and future Workforce Development programs. Collaborate with various stakeholders to address both workforce needs and program requirements, supporting the development and implementation of policies and procedures for workforce development programs. Help lead the day-to-day operations and collaborate with the AMP team to develop, implement, and improve new and existing workforce development programming, including career pathways and upskill. Develop an in-depth understanding of the electric vehicle workforce development ecosystem in and around Alabama, as well as in the state and nationally. Help facilitate regional/statewide workforce planning, including needs assessments, strategic planning, adaptation to local needs, and progress monitoring. Maintain records and data and draft reports, memoranda, letters, and other written materials as requested. Work with a team to manage program deliverables within budgetary, resources and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to create and manage feedback systems to monitor implementation needs to support the successful adoption, implementation, and scaling.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and some experience in workforce development, recruiting, marketing, career counseling, or human resources.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage the application and admission process of prospective trainees and ensuring that trainees are meeting program competencies both for the didactic and experiential field training. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and two or more years of experience in workforce development, recruiting, marketing, career counseling, or human resources.
