Position Summary
The Data Services Specialist plays an important role in ensuring the Foundation meets its mission by being responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all constituent information received through various sources to include biographical information, pledges, pledge payments and gifts.

Primary Responsibilities
Reviews contributions for completeness, determination of fund restrictions and acceptability of endorsement. Accurately and systematically codes, enters and posts gift and pledge information for each transaction. Performs standard control procedures to ensure accurate records and gift receipts. Updates and corrects errors in account cross reference number and any other gift and pledge related information. Verifies accuracy of gift transaction coding and input from other processors.
Researches, analyzes and updates biographical and demographic donor records in response to information received through various sources such as UConn Alumni, Foundation Research Department, schools/colleges, and individuals.
Responds to donor inquiries received through the mail, email and/or phone calls as they relate to all manner of constituent data. Performs special enhancement and clean-up projects as assigned.
Provides assistance as needed which may include training of new and/or temporary employees as well as providing back-up for other departmental tasks as required.
Reviews processes and procedures to identify improvements that will increase accuracy and/or efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to be congenial, professional, and effective in handling situations with donors, Foundation staff, University staff, and visitors.
Ability to work to the demands of the position which may exceed a 40-hour work week.
Experience and Skills
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1 years of data entry, processing, and reporting experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Demonstrated ability to work in multiple system environments.
