Salary: $56,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Provide professional skills for graduate student recruitment, academic program advising and administrative activities aimed to effectively deliver graduate student admission and enrollment services in support of ACOB's graduate studies initiatives and goals.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Supports development, design, and execution of recruitment plan and strategies that will identify, attract, build relationships with, and retain highly qualified students into ACOB graduate programs.
  2. Advises and communicates with prospects and students to discuss program requirements, academic progression, degree programs, admission process, deadlines, funding, registration and opportunities.
  3. Answers inquiries and solve complex problems, provides information regarding registration, financial aid, and program development. Initiates and maintains communication plans with prospects and students. Provides information about college and university procedures, policies and regulations.
  4. Manages the creation and maintenance of electronic records for college advisors and faculty committees, creates reports, files and databases/spreadsheets on prospective and current students. Works with Graduate Advisor of Record, Department Chair, and faculty on University requirements.
  5. Process documents and petitions of university wide requirements; register/withdraw students, generate, maintain, and distribute detailed student data, and produce departmental letters of admission and/or verification.
  6. Plans, organizes, develops and implements college and program recruitment and promotional events and activities including but not limited to graduate receptions, hooding ceremonies, webinars, open house, and community information sessions. Provides assistance in recruitment of new students and maintenance of cohorts.
  7. Develops, manages and maintains online and in print graduate program materials; prepares program information for dissemination; engages prospects and student to promote and market graduate programs to targeted audiences; conducts regular program evaluations and recommends updates accordingly.
  8. Manages the hiring process of work-study student employees. Observes performances and assist with development plans, mentoring and recruitment of new members.
  9. Maintains records, gathers data and prepares reports as required.
  10. Interacts with university departments, student groups, and external agencies.
  11. Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required and six years of experience working with student groups in the community or equivalent advisory and administrative experience in the field of education. A Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Effective organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ex. Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Experience with Banner, Peoplesoft and webadmit systems.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:
  • Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
  • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
  • After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.
  • Occasional after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, - routinely

This position will primarily be located on the UTSA Main Campus with a hybrid working modality. The position will allow working both on campus and remotely (3 days on campus and 2 days remote per week). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. This work modality is subject to change based on the needs of the department.
