What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at The UPS Store?
The Store Manager is to assist in running the day-to-day operations of this retail location. He or she may be required to open and close the center, help manage productivity and ensure the store’s team delivers world-class customer service to all customers, monitor cost control and expenses, and contribute to weekly and monthly reports developed by the franchise owner. The Store Manager is involved with profit/loss, continuous improvement, service delivery levels, personnel management, and business development.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (college coursework or a degree preferred), one year of retail Mail Center (The UPS Store, Postal Annex, AIM, etc.) store operations experience, strong supervisory/managerial/leadership skills, excellent computer/internet/software knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job (lifting, bending, etc.), and knows how to listen, follow, lead, and help the franchise owner attain defined targets. He or she must have a dynamic personality and must be able to help motivate a team to optimize performance. Candidates must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week that may span Monday through Saturday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help with personnel management, which includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and coaching associates
- Schedule work assignments and help facilitate weekly or monthly staff meetings
- Monitor, evaluate, and help maximize customer service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Help develop and implement the store marketing programs
- Manage inventory
- Help oversee store maintenance, including cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Outstanding phone skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Able to cross sell and up sell products and services
- Able to follow and understand quality guidelines
- Able to help customers with boxing and packaging their materials
- Able to work and complete tasks independently in a quick turn environment
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task
- Knowledge and application of printing concepts
- Strong keyboarding skills and the ability to create meaningful data reports and manipulate data
- High energy level
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Must be an energetic self-starter who is driven to succeed
- Able to lift 40 pounds
- Willing and able to work 30 to 40 hours per week
- Willing and able to work a very flexible, schedule that may span Monday through Saturday
