General Manager
“Engage Hospitality, a premier hotel management company, is seeking a versatile, experienced, self- starter to lead The Villa Montes Hotel, located in San Bruno, CA.
The candidate must possess several years of hotel management experience, be a critical thinker, proven leader and have a well- rounded understanding of hotel operations, sales and marketing and revenue management.
Job Summary:
The GM will direct and coordinate the activities of the hotel to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through direct report supervisors. The ideal candidate is passionate and committed to the business at an ownership level, and manages people to inspire loyalty and maximize performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with individuals/groups and be comfortable in social situations.
- Establish and maintain guest service standards that exceed guests' expectations.
- Manage guest and community relations.
- Monitor financial performance and control costs pursuant to the annual operating budget.
- Maximize the revenue generated by each business area.
- Participate in community and industry organizations as the primary representative of the hotel.
- Manage individual department supervisors that are responsible for the daily operations and profitability of the hotel.
- Direct, coordinate, and evaluate these departments.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview; hire; train; supervise; plan, assign, and direct work of; appraise performance of; reward; and discipline department supervisors.
- Address employee complaints and resolve employee problems.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Candidates with minimum Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Sales experience highly desired.
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service, builds relationships, and close profitable sales.
- Ability to communicate issues and concerns to all levels of the organization as needed.
- Ability to provide accurate information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to effectively deal with employees and customers some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to create Front Office reports, business correspondences, emails, and memos.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and database tools.
- Multi- lingual including Spanish is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
