Who We Are -
The Village Diner has been a staple in the West HIllsborough community since the 1970s, and with a change of ownership in 2017, we have put a fresh twist on pizza, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast. We are a small, tight-knit family that strives to stand out within our local community, and we are dedicated to quality customer service and excellent food. Currently, we are looking for Cooks to join our team, both part-time (10-29 hrs/week) and full-time (30 hours/week). Health insurance eligibility available for full time status.
Job Summary -
- Set up and prep workstations prior to service with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Stretch and form pizza dough
- Cook food in various appliances or grillers
- Ensure great presentation of all dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
- Complete closing duties at the end of shift, including but not limited to: prepping food for overnight storage, cleaning work station, assisting with dishes, etc.
- Additional duties as needed and assigned
Job Requirements -
Experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for candidates that have a positive attitude, adaptability, and are creative within the culinary art.
