Responsibilities:
The Clinical Training Coordinator delivers engaging and innovating training to clinical supervisors and clinical support staff utilizing various methods to teach and support competent skill and knowledge base to meet the organization’s goals. Training delivery will include design and support of various methods of learning to include but not limited to classroom settings, eLearning simulations, and on-on-one education. The coordinator will work closely with clinical supervisors and ancillary services supervisor to support the knowledge and skill base to enable the performance of high-quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with the Manager, Clinical Operations - Primary Care to identify organizational goals for skill and training for clinical support staff and clinical supervisors.
- Collaboration with the Manager, Clinical Operations - Primary Care to design and implement onboarding training for new clinical support staff.
- Collaboration with clinical supervisors, care center managers and ancillary services supervisor to identify training gaps and needs of clinical support staff and provide intervention and remediation where appropriate.
- Collaboration with clinical supervisors to identify and train clinical assistant IV individuals across the organization.
- Collaboration with Manager, Clinical Operations – Primary Care, Learning and Development, and Clinical Applications Specialists and trainers to design and implementation educational needs and opportunities for clinical supervisors and clinical support staff.
- Collaboration with Specialty in training opportunities/cross training opportunities for clinical assistants.
- Participate in clinical support competencies twice a year.
- Collaborate with Manager, Clinical Operations – Primary Care to maintain, update, create clinical workflows and job aid.
- Participate in AHA training programs within organization.
- Functions as a team player and clinical leader to teach and promote high quality patient care.
- Travel to various locations throughout The Villages. Must have valid driver’s license with a record acceptable to company standards.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years training experience preferred.
- Minimum of Licensed Practical Nurse.
- AHA Certified BLS Instructor or willing to obtain and maintain while serving in this role.
- Preferably familiar with organizational goals and mission.
- Proficient with virtual training tools such as Teams, WebEx.
- Proficient with organization’s EHR, Athena.
- Proficient in knowledge and skills of clinical assistants
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
- Experience with/knowledge of primary and specialty care settings and roles of clinical support staff.
- Experience with designing and leading training.
- Practices patient-centric care and has experience with and skilled in: IV, phlebotomy, EKGs, Urinary Catheters, Holter Monitors, POC testing, Spirometry, splinting, assisting providers with procedures, setting up and maintain sterile field, HEDIS/quality measures, appropriate patient conversations.
- Able to multi-task, problem solve, adapt to change and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures.
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice.
- Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
- Familiarity with health care system, regulations, policies, and functions.
- Understanding of documentation standards.
- Knowledge of equipmen, supplies, and material needed for medical treatment.
- Understanding of basic laboratory, procedures including preparation and screening.
- Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
- Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately.
- Skill with tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
- Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
- Skill in reading and following written and oral medical order.
- Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
- Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
- Skill in performing blood draws.
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
- Ability to work with computer and effectively use electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages.
