What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Control/Treatment Nurse (RN/LPN) position at The Waters of Union City?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wound Care Coordinator/Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN) reports to and receives general direction from the Director of Nursing and is responsible for delivering quality wound care and preventative measures to maintain skin integrity to assigned residents in compliance with applicable federal and state guidelines and established policies and procedures.
- Utilizes the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents wound and skin integrity
- Collecting and documentation of residents’ skin status including medical history.
- Wound care prevention and prevention through plan of care
- Sets priorities for nursing action for wound care and prevention
- Communicates with physicians regarding resident wound needs
- Initiates nutritional interventions to ensure that residents with wounds are provided nutrition to promote wound healing.
- Performs direct resident care utilizing established procedure, policies, and standards
- Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with the physician’s orders
- Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each residents while performing treatments
- Communicates and interacts effectively, courteously, and tactfully with residents, visitors,
- Conducts rounds frequently to ensure that residents with incontinence are receiving pericare
consultation from the DON
- Performs duties in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control
soiled material
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
2. Must possess a current and unencumbered Licensed Professional Nurse or Registered Nurse License in the state the facility resides in
