*General Summary OF Duties*- The Medical Scribe charts patient’s encounters in real-time using the EMR system. *Duties Include BUT ARE NOT Limited TO: * * Works alongside Physicians to overcome clinical inefficiencies, improve operations, and enhance revenue functions. * Accurately records and documents patients’ visits and procedures. * Transcribes results of patient and doctor consultations. Will utilize a practice management software to assist with documentation of medical visits. *Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* * Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing * establishes and maintains patient relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations * Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients, and external parties * The Medical Scribe will also scribe medical encounters that take place via telemedicine and will be required to physically go to the facilities where patients are physically located at. These locations include facilities in the Greater New Orleans Area (Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish) as well as Bogalusa, Franklinton and Houma, Louisiana. Must have own transportation. Medical Scribe will be compensated for mileage in accordance with Federal Standards and Guidelines. Medical Scribe will also assist in administrative duties such as compiling daily patient census, communicating with nursing staff and administration and responding to requests for medical records, answering phones and handling incoming faxes. PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as required We are looking for a focused and experienced medical scribe to assist healthcare physicians with medical transcriptions. The medical scribe's responsibilities include transcribing patients' medical histories, taking note of medical examination findings, and updating digital patient records. To be successful as a medical scribe you must be detailed oriented and have excellent organizational skills while being able to remain friendly and professional with all patients. A good medical scribe has an excellent knowledge of medical theory and proficiency with computers. Must have experience with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA or Medical Scribe is a significant plus.
