What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flower Program Assistant position at The Winterberry Group?
If you love working with flowers and container design, then this is the role for you! As a flower program assistant, you will help to install seasonal flower plantings in landscape beds and containers.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Working with growing department staff to organize plant material needed for projects
- Helping crews to load materials for the day
- Traveling to various residential and commercial jobsites each day to oversee and assist crews in flower bed and container plantings
- Follow design plans and pictures to bring a client’s vision to life
- Complete container plantings at our nursery to prepare for delivery to jobsites
- Assist in creating holiday greens arrangements and installing exterior and interior holiday decorations
- Meet with prospective and current clients to discuss their seasonal color interests
Experience working with annuals and container plantings is preferred, but not necessary. Must have excellent communication skills, be able to multi-task in a busy environment and have a consistently positive attitude. Must have a valid CT driver’s license and be able to drive a pick-up truck or other vehicle to and from jobsites. The ability to work full-time Monday through Friday with flexible hours daily is needed, as well as the ability to work on weekends occasionally when projects must be completed to meet client deadlines. Must also be able to stand for long periods of time, bend and kneel frequently throughout the day, lift and carry up to 50lbs and work outdoors in all types of weather.
