This role drives the sales of research products and services within a defined territory. They maintain effective customer relations, develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. Key responsibilities will be:
- Make independent decisions while applying available resources to meet customer needs
- Work effectively with a cross-functional team of suppliers and internal resources
- Seek out broader relationships within the account to help facilitate networking and prospecting
- Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory
- Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data into the business plan
- Introduce new customer solutions
- Manage pricing within territory to control profitability
- Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files required for effective territory management
- Communicate any customer issues or potential problems
- Consult with customers on supply and price trends and assist in inventory control
- Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the Sciences
Experience
- Prior sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry, or lab experience is an asset
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
- Must possess the interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed
- Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred
- Able and willing to travel to customer locations

The salary range estimated for this position is $44,000 - $60,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
