Location/Division Specific Information

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and outstanding service authorities have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

How will you make an impact?

The position supports the daily supervision of 10-15 customer site-based personnel, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service. Responsible for meeting goals and objectives of the customer location, as determined by contractual requirements. Includes oversight of enterprise and scientific support services related to Unity Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glassware operations. May also include lab-based tasks including media/reagent preparation and cell culture support operations.

Job Summary:

The Inventory Supervisor chips in to improving current operations practices, including procurement, coordinating of existing inventory program, product mix optimization, and the Surplus Asset Management (SAM) Team. Interacts frequently with the Sales team, addressing account specific needs as required.

What will do you?

  • Lead a cross functional and matrixed team of on-site service specialists that work daily at key customer site. Participates in the candidate selection process, trains, and evaluates staff’s performance. Supervises staff in a manner that is consistent with our values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement and on open communication. Actively seeks development opportunities for team members and self. Promotes a friendly environment, good morale and collaborative partnerships.
  • Ensure full delivery of the committed services scope of work. Collaborate and support the Program Manager for customer reviews of performance and ensure that maximum value creation occurs and is recorded for customer.
  • Ensures customer needs are met and high-quality service is delivered through a variety of means, including staff meeting or exceeding service levels and through supervising team performance,
  • Act as liaison between customer and our company. Refine processes, identify process issues, recommend solutions, develop action plans, identify operational efficiencies/deficiencies through process improvement initiatives, and promote standard methodologies
  • Ability to lead and sustain services within the account portfolio
  • Responsible for leading and developing team in a positive manner. Including professional development, recruiting, corrective action and performance reviews.
  • Evaluates employees’ training needs, identifies possible solutions and arranges for needed training and development. Ensures that employees are cross trained and develops employees to build a career path and succession plan.
  • Take meaningful actions in data collection and reporting. Develops Performance Indicators, supervises trends and implements improved processes. Report business metrics, target and define new opportunities, act as resource for the customer in the area of service, savings and opportunities.
  • Attends training classes and regional meetings as a valued contributor.
  • Supports other duties as assigned.

How you will get here?

Education

Requires a BA or BS in related studies

Experience

  • Min 3-5 years of relevant inventory, supply chain or warehousing experience
  • Min 3 years of supervisor experience with leading at least 5 direct reports prior
  • Prior Life Science validated experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Daily leadership of onsite team members
  • Understands analytical, operational, marketing concepts with the ability to exercise judgment within generally defined procedures.
  • Predominately works on tasks/duties that are diverse in nature using business knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to prioritization tasks to support objectives to completion.
  • Strong oral and written communication skill to provide appropriate information
  • Applicant will be encouraged to work independently with little instruction on routine work but more detail instruction on new assignments
