Responsibilities
The professional Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. The RN is responsible to practice according to the Scope & Standards of Practice to include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the RN is responsible to maintain standards of professional practice including quality of practice, education, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, ethics, research, resource utilization and leadership.
The RN is responsible to practice according to the Nursing theory of Benner, Primacy of Caring as described in the nursing philosophy.
Qualifications
1. Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or Graduate Nurse with Temporary Practice Permit. Maintains current licensure
2. BCLS current
3. Certification in clinical practice area preferred.
4. Membership in Professional Organization encouraged
