Summary
We are excited to announce the opening of a new, Cantina-themed Bar and Restaurant, Arriba Abajo, inside the Thompson and Tommie Austin, two premier lifestyle hotels in Downtown Austin – This new concept will include 17,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and lounge space, multiple venue’s for private events and the pool deck servicing hotel guests and Residents.
The Role
You will work in a team-oriented environment and fully support and provide assistance to the Food & Beverage team with administrative tasks, provide engaging customer service, and receive and qualify leads for Food & Beverage managers. You will also support the continuing effort to deliver distinctively different guest experiences and nurture lasting relationships with our guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for overseeing, coordinating and executing large party reservations and events at the restaurant (9 or more guests). To include: Patio Bar, Main Dining, PDR and Tambien Mezceleria.
- Managing reservations of 9 or above, communicating with guests to ensure needs are met, coordinating with kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service during events, and handling any special requests or special accommodations.
- Weekend availability / Not a WFH Job.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Coordinator may be responsible for marketing and promoting the restaurants ability to host large parties and event
- Work in tandem with our Programming Manager to ensure all program needs are met and executed.
- Create memorable experiences with a warm, welcoming personality that can relate to guests and associates.
- Utilize the freedom to go beyond to take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty.
- Share your personal passions and knowledge of the services and amenities available to guests to help them feel at home.
- Prospect, solicit and close new business as well as maintain repeat clients. Handle all major VIP clients for Arriba Abajo.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate what you see and hear to staff and management to ensure the guests needs are being met.
- Promptly answer telephones and enthusiastically greet our guests with your personal spirit, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Produce quotes and written confirmation to all clients.
- Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Director of Outlets to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads.
- Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions. Escort clients through the property and highlight features of facility as well as available services.
- Work with the Director of Outlets to establish policy standards, procedures, operational guidelines & service manual Review & co-ordinate with chef creative menus & new product ideas.

This mixed-use project will also feature a residential tower – Sienna – and 10,000 square feet of retail space and a 7,000 sq. ft. state of the art fitness center and simulator room, appropriately named the “T” Box.

Qualifications
- Meet & greet clients on event dates and introduce them to operations.
- General knowledge of Food & Beverage operations.
- Flexibility. This is a demanding business and it requires you manage multiple priorities while meeting varying deadlines, but it’s also a lot of fun!
- Experience. Previous experience passionately providing service to others and providing administrative support in a team-oriented environment, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
- Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through excellent written communication with clients and the team.
- Organization. Creating a seamless flow from the guest booking process until the moment they are handed off to operations
- Attend all required meetings within the operations; including pre-shift lineups.
