MAIN FUNCTION
- Lives the CARES values at all times.
- The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality nursing patient care under the supervision of physicians, mid-level practitioners and the Peri-Operative Director. The LPN assists the provider with patients, including the preparation of examination rooms, preparation of the patient for the visit, taking vital signs and explaining preparations to the patients. Under the direction of the provider, the LPN will perform EKGs, venipunctures, administer medications and immunizations as prescribed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing, currently licensed in New York State.
- Must maintain current CPR training and certification.
EDUCATION
- Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing, currently licensed in New York State, required.
EXPERIENCE
- Five years of recent nursing experience required. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nursing is required to successfully complete the Thompson Health System orientation program during the introductory period.
- Physician office nursing experience, injection administration and phlebotomy skills preferred.
