Tidewater Transit Company is hiring For a Trucking Company Controller out of Kinston, NC. Tidewater Transit is an industry leader in liquid and dry bulk transportation. Our commitment to safety and product stewardship is guided by the principles of Responsible Care and the Responsible Care Management System.  The Controller oversees the activities of the Corporate Accounting Department for accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal monthly financial statements and audits. Duties and Responsibilities: - Compiles financial data and creates journal entries. - Assists in the preparation of corporate and subsidiary financial statements. - Reconciles general ledger accounts. - Oversee’s budgeting process and monitors financial performance.  - Play a key role in strategic planning by providing financial insights and analysis.  - Maintains the Capital Expenditures and Depreciation - Works with auditors - Establishing and maintaining effective internal control procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.  - Processes toll bills - Work with the BDG department to strategize on rates Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following skills: - Maintain confidentiality of all Tidewater and employee documentation, processes, and proprietary information. - Complete tasks correctly and on time. - Organize, prioritize, and plan work activities. - Able to adapt to frequent interruption. - Collect and research data. - Demonstrate attention to detail. - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. - Respond to terminal or employee requests. - Write clearly and informatively. - Able to read and interpret written information. - Follow policies and procedures. - Treat others with respect and consideration. - Issue clear and concise instructions. - Observe safety and security procedures. - Is consistently at work and on time - Ability to adapt to changing environments Minimum Requirements: - Five years of Accountingmanagement experience To learn more about driving with us complete the quick app to the right and if on a mobile device the app is below.
