Team Intro
The TikTok USDS Legal & Compliance team manages and oversees legal, privacy, and regulatory matters pertaining to TikTok USDS's operations. We collaborate cross-functionally and globally to address some of the most complex and intriguing issues in privacy and data security.
We are looking for an all-around player, capable of handling a diverse range of responsibilities including process optimization and compliance. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, client-focused experience, and a deep understanding of the legal needs within a technology-driven environment. The ideal candidate plays a pivotal role in supporting the Legal department - ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, assisting the legal team with third party risk management tools, supporting the employment legal function, and fostering effective communication across the organization. You will also be responsible for facilitating decision-making processes and driving efficiency and effectiveness in the Legal department's functions; turning complex Legal department challenges into action and outcomes in a fast moving environment.

Responsibilities:
- Performing and improving third party risk mitigation screening of all new and existing USDS vendors.
- Supporting employment legal function including review and production of personnel records, managing and driving projects with cross functional stakeholders, and creating processes and efficiencies with HR stakeholders.
- Defining and tracking key metrics and key quality and performance indicators, and pulling data to perform analyses.
- Conducting thorough legal research on a wide array of topics relevant to TikTok USDS's operations.
- Analyzing complex legal issues and providing well-founded recommendations to the legal team and other stakeholders.
- Staying updated on changes in laws and regulations that impact the technology industry. Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s compliance programs.
- Providing training and support to business stakeholders on compliance-related matters. Serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external clients on legal matters.
- Providing exceptional client service by addressing legal inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization. Preparing and managing legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations for the legal team and executive management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a technology company or law firm with a technology focus.
- BA/BS or Paralegal Certificate.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, managing projects with competing timelines with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately with a high level of professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with technology and comfortable learning new technology.
- Data-driven and have proven capability in data analysis; ability to draw insights from a comprehensive point of view.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (hourly)

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is 28.5- 46.15.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
