Chairlift Attendant

Chairlift Attendants play an important role in the daily operations at Timberline Mountain. Their primary responsibility is to ensure a safe uphill transport of all guests, by monitoring the safe loading and unloading of the lift. Lift attendants should have good people skills, be able to communicate in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy working with the public.
Responsibilities:
- Safety:Ensure the safe and efficient operation of lifts, including maintaining ramps and keeping the area free of hazards. Use speed control and stops of the lift as necessary to assist the guest while loading and unloading.
- Customer service:Provide a positive experience for guests. Chairlift Attendants are in constant communication with our guests and must be friendly when assisting them, while being an ambassador for Timberline Mountain.
- Communication:Keep lift logs, use radios and telephones, and communicate with others about safety concernsas needed. Be able to work well in a team with other lift attendants, supervisors, and managers.
- Maintenance:Perform pre- and post-operation inspections, and clean equipment.
- Crowd control:Organize guests in lines and manage traffic. Assist with lift ticket issues at the gate.
- Professionalism: Behave professionally and maintain a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 11/1/2024 to apply.
- No experience is required.
- All employees age 18 will complete a background check upon hire.
- Lift Attendants should be ready to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Lift Attendants must be able to shovel snow, and will be on their feet for most of their shift.
Pay Rate:
- $15 per hour
- Employees receive a pay raise with each year of experience working at Timberline Mountain (up to $2.00 total).
The Lift Department is looking to hire approximately 30 new employees.
