POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of the Human Resources (HR) Program including payroll processing, benefit administration, recruiting, onboarding of new employees, training, leading employee performance review effort, and ensuring compliance with all labor laws and guidelines.
Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
Pay: Based on experience
ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Not an exhaustive list)
HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain reports necessary to carry out functions of department. Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports to executive management, as necessary or requested.
- Establish and maintain an effective employee relations program for the company, including ensuring all policies and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner; are consistent with commitments to the EEOC, Wage and Hour, IRS, DOL and other federal and state regulatory requirements on employment.
- Establish programs, governance procedures and other necessary mechanisms to monitor and investigate employee grievances, morale issues, conflicts, or problems.
- Work with leadership team to set, adjust, and maintain clear communications regarding employee engagement, company culture and values.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefit Administration
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that balance being competitive and cost-effective.
- Oversee 401(k) administration, maintain records, and ensure all yearly forms are completed.
- Oversee processing of multi-state semi-monthly payroll. Payroll is outsourced utilizing HRIS.
- Process and track employee absences and job-protected leave, such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
- Oversee workers’ compensation process, maintain files and correspondence, and resolves problems relating to claims.
Talent Management
- Develop and ensure comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs.
- Maintain and/or develop comprehensive job responsibilities and position descriptions for use in recruiting.
- Work with department managers to assess staffing needs and actively recruit, screen, interview, and make offers to qualified candidates for open positions.
- Lead and manage the new hire orientation and onboarding process including reviewing and revising existing format and content and develop process enhancements to ensure a positive experience
- Review results of exit interviews on a regular basis and develop action plans as needed.
Organizational Development, Training & Performance Management
- Propose, develop, plan, and administer training programs for employees and managers.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Work in partnership with department managers to determine required people resources, training needs, identification of leadership talent, and succession planning.
- Develop, implement, administer, maintain, and lead managers through the annual performance review process.
- Recommend career paths, growth, and development of employees.
Compliance
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Human Resources federal and state requirements while actively identifying gaps and proposing and implementing changes.
- Participate in the Safety Committee and assist with reporting, monitoring, and developing policies.
Management
- Keep all levels of management informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those which are not being addressed adequately at the manager or employee level.
- Provide guidance to all levels of management in the interpretation of Tissue Regenix/CellRight Technologies’ policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of HR strategic initiatives and/or in setting company-wide HR goals and objectives.
- Responsible for departmental personnel, assist in setting goals and objectives for the department and its personnel and prepare budget (if applicable), reports and other communications as required by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- In-depth knowledge of governmental regulations affecting Human Resources including, but not limited to, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Internal Revenue Service (IRS),
- Seasoned problem solver and decision maker who knows compliance and multi-state employment laws and regulations or ability to acquire state law knowledge.
- Working knowledge and experience with HRIS software. Knowledge of Paycor is a plus.
- Payroll processing experience including remote and multi-state employees.
- Must be professional in handling of confidential/sensitive information.
- Must be proficient with data analytics and be able to collect, analyze and report on the data in a useful format.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks ensuring timely resolution.
- Must be able to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities; highly responsive and solution/action oriented.
- Must be flexible and adaptable in the workplace along with the ability to prioritize work.
- Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field required.
- 7 years of full cycle Human Resources in a multi-state environment.
- Experience working in a single-person HR department in small to midsize company preferred.
- Prior experience working in one or more of the following industries: manufacturing environment, healthcare, life sciences, and/or tissue banking industry preferred.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Work will be performed in an office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- This position is available for the Work from Home (WFH) option at manager’s discretion.
- Duties will not include contact/exposure to biohazardous materials, chemicals, and blood and human tissue.
- Training will be conducted on the handling and safety practices necessary for the use and disposal of hazardous chemicals and potential biohazards.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a computer and/or laptop through proficient typing, clicking, and viewing a monitor for extended periods.
- Regularly required to speak, hear, and read instructions on a computer monitor and/or printed on paper.
- Duties include physical effort; including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, or standing for long periods of time.
