Position Title:    IT Engineering Manager (Ref. 2213489)

Job Description:

Accountable for technical product management, engineering health of assigned products/platforms and overall engineering talent management for the assigned scope. Coach, mentor, develop and grow engineering talent on the team. Function as the primary champion of an engineering mindset within the team. Anticipate demand and hires/facilitate the hiring of skilled internal and external engineering talent for the assigned scope. Represent respective Product/Platform Team as a member of Engineering Community of Practice. Partner with Stakeholders to drive solutions to meet business needs. Accountable for the planning (inc. estimation / forecasting), execution and success of technical Epics, or technical aspects of larger Epics to achieve business outcomes. Ensure mechanisms for technical oversight are in place whilst executing through skilled engineers, including spend, governance & decision making within the Product Team(s) or technical domain(s). Ensure best engineering practices are followed/adopted for achieving operational excellence for business solutions (including DevSecOps practices). Create and deliver an engineering roadmap for the assigned products, partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment to Product Roadmaps, Business Strategies and Architectural standards. Position is fixed location based in Marlborough, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any field), Applied Computer Science or a directly related field plus eight (8) years in an IT role or related occupation. Experience must include:

Five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Direct people management (leading and mentoring engineers)
• Agile software development and continuous improvement concepts
• Providing performance analysis in both technical and non-technical evaluations
• Mainframe software

Four (4) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Acting as a lead architect or design lead on multiple retail projects
• Off Price retail systems
