Position Purpose:
Performs complex to highly complex (journey-level) work. The quality specialist works with recruited hospitals to improve performance in designated patient safety measures. These patient safety areas include improving performance on readmission, adverse drug events, opioid abuse and use, and patient harms (sepsis, pressure injuries, CAUTI, CLABSI, hospital acquired infections, etc.). Meetings with hospitals are conducted either monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly based on each hospital’s performance. Works under general supervision, with moderate to considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
