Product Manager, Identity is the ultimate "jack-of-all-trades" leveraging deep customer empathy, strategic thinking, analytical, technical capability and knowledge, and leadership prowess to successfully deliver delightful and differentiated products that drive growth and positively impact customers lives.
Vision, Strategy, and Analysis
• Owns the overall internal and external Identity Strategy end to end for complex or cross-platform solutions for products of the highest level of complexity and scope.
• Designs and drives programs to help execute against that strategy.
• Drives projects to help realize the maturity of the Identity ecosystem.
• Partners with business, internal/external stakeholders and Leadership to understand current processes, customer experience, identifies areas of opportunity.
• Conducts analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify product innovation opportunities or root cause of issues, and assess opportunity size and impact. May work with data scientists to answer complex questions or identify meaningful insights from data.
• Conducts cost-benefit / ROI / NPV analysis, to support decision making.
• Works with stakeholders and follows enterprise process to secure and maintain product funding.
• Anticipates industry trends, technologies, direction, innovation, analyses potential impacts or opportunities to help drive the strategy and program..
• Communicates, influences, and sells ideas at VP/SVP/EVP and below.
• Leads discussions with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
• Maintains current understanding of tech trends. Assesses how trends impact the roadmap or create opportunity for innovation of the product. Also uses this knowledge to guide and advise the broader organization.
Stakeholder Evangelist
▪ Leverages insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, priorities.
▪ Dedicates time to stakeholders actively meeting with them to build deeper empathy and understand their needs and priorities.
▪ Actively looks for opportunities to delight or meet customer’s unmet needs.
▪ Evangelizes and advocates for security, perpetuating the customer-first mindset.
▪ Creates an environment and culture where the team is immersed in the vision and direction
Product Execution & Technical Delivery
• Works with the Strategy team to continue to update and adjust the Identity Strategies
• Translates the Strategy to deliverable program/projects
• Collaborates with Architects, Engineers, Business Stakeholders, PM’s etc. to drive the maturity of Identity
• Scopes and ensures alignment on the prioritization of activities based on security prioritization.
• Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to ensure technical debt and long term technical investment is factored into roadmap.
• Ensures existing production defects are factored into regular backlog prioritization for resolution based on priority.
• Collaborates with stakeholders and Dev / Execution teams to create and communicate anticipated impacts to the organization.
• Generates and maintains dashboards and reports that track product health and success metrics, technical KPI’s.
• Runs POC’s and pilot programs to ensure realization of strategy
• Supports other stakeholder teams with product or technical knowledge and additional documentation.
• Assists with the overall execution relating to all aspects of the software development process, from defining the strategy and architecture through deployment and support.
• Anticipates and communicates technical challenges to stakeholders and makes educated trade-off decisions with the team.
• Accountable for product quality and performance in production environment. Accountable for product and Dev team response in event of critical or high impacting defect , including communications to stakeholders at all levels.
• Manages development of adoption tools and training materials. Identify execution, operational, organizational issues that impede product success. Drive improvement plan to change or resolve issues (within sphere of influence).
Relationship & People, Professional Development
• Collaborates and develops positive working relationships with many technical and non-technical teams, including security, IT, Care, Retail, marketing, legal, go-to-market, finance, Dev, Architecture, Engineering. Works with outside partners and other third parties.
• Develops positive working relationships with Customer groups or Customer Representatives.
• Regularly mentors and provides informal coaching to other Product Management staff, as well as other members of the Team.
• Presents at educational workshops; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; participates in professional societies.
• Develops adoption tools and training material for Cyber Strategy Team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
8 years’ experience in hands on technical role writing production code, solution engineering, or technical architecture in large scale company / application / product environment.
More than 5 years experience within the Cyber Security domain, specifically in the area of Identity Management
More than 5 years relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment.
Proven analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data and use the data to drive decisions.
Mastery level understanding of platform technologies and components such as security, performance, optimization, API integration.
Expert level knowledge of full technology stack on which your assigned product runs.
Mastery of requirements elicitation, and writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences.
Experience with successive elaboration and ability to develop Initiatives, Features and User Stories that the DevOps teams can ingest.
Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives as Product Manager or lead technology role.
Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, technical and non-technical audiences while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
Knowledge and experience with integration patterns, API’s, and protocols such as REST, EDI, SOAP, etc.
• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law.
