Key Relationships Executive business leaders Corporate department leaders across functions (IT, Marketing, Legal, HR, Supply Management, etc.) Communications peers (U.S. Pest Field Communications, Digital and Creative Production, Community Relations and M&E North America Executives, MVPs, RDs, Managers and Colleagues Key suppliers, partners and consultants Job Summary Execution of internal business and employee communications to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging, storytelling, and overall communication effectiveness to support and drive the company’s business growth initiatives. Works with members of the corporate communications department on assigned initiatives, projects and strategic communication campaigns designed to deliver innovative ways to engage key stakeholders. Key Performance Indicators Campaign success metrics (e.g., open, read, click rates) Digital platform adoption rates (e.g., page visits, logins, and mobile usage) Colleague engagement survey scores Principal Duties and Responsibilities Defines internal communication plans to support business requirements and deliver desired outcomes. Maintains/enhances employee engagement through increasing employee understanding of business goals, objectives, key initiatives, and progress. Proactively collaborates with department colleagues and business partners to enhance organizational communications across the enterprise. Delivers integrated communication calendar that provides transparency across the organization. Develops and builds alignment around communication governance system to define roles, processes, guidelines, and metrics for success. Develops plan and infrastructure to build effective communication capabilities among business partners to enhance the quality and consistency of communications. Writes/edits narratives and stories and produces a wide range of internal communications, including but not limited to video and digital campaigns, management emails and presentations, employee newsletters, virtual conferences, and town hall meetings. Manages and develops digital channels aligned to appropriate platforms to increase communication effectiveness and operational efficiencies (employee intranet); as well as monitors performance metrics and prepares analytics reports as assigned. Ensures quality and consistency of messages are reflected in all appropriate touch points. Coaches and supports business leaders in delivering communications to support strategy and organizational changes. Maintains a keen understanding of external and digital communications industry trends and makes appropriate recommendations to support strategy. May leverage social media channels to facilitate online conversation and drive audience engagement. CANDIDATE SUMMARY Required Experience Minimum 5 years of related corporate experience in communications, public relations, marketing communications, or related field. Proven exceptional writing skills and ability to tailor messages to specific and multiple constituencies. Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills. Proven event planning, management, and facilitation of internal employee events/meetings. Experience in developing and leading proactive multimedia communications campaigns. Experience with various communication technologies platforms. Demonstrated competency in strategy and plan development. May manage project/program budgets. Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics Solid understanding of corporate communications and its impact on the business Ability to think strategically, with solid business knowledge, organizational savvy, and negotiation skills. Understanding and awareness of employee engagement and change management strategies Strong relationship builder; works effectively at all levels of the organization Ability to respond to rapidly changing conditions with agility and imagination, capitalizing on emerging communication opportunities. High level of energy, self-confidence, and enthusiasm with ability to work well with team members and all levels of management Ability to maintain discretion and manage confidential information. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multitask, organize, prioritize and follow through on commitments. Ability to translate complex business concepts or product offerings into digestible stories. Must have the flexibility to travel as necessary and work non-traditional workdays as needed to account for global time zone differences. Formal Education, Qualifications or Training Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism, English or Business required; advanced degree preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and excellent working knowledge of digital communications platforms and networks. Incumbent must be prepared to: • Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects. • Sitting for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers, phones and etc. • Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment. • Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment. Incumbent is required to have: • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.
