JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the Southwest region of assigned accounts. This role will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate client needs, work to ensure deadlines for the client are met and help the client succeed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage all facets of the strategic account assigned to employee, including contract negotiations, material supply, trials, etc.
- Manages all accounts in the territory assigned to employee
- Establishes an in-depth knowledge of customer needs through relationships with main contacts at customers, such as executives, buyers, melt shop managers, melt shop personnel, researchers, engineers, etc.
- Builds strong, long-term relationships with customers by staying in constant communication and efficiently resolving issues with alternate solutions tailored to individual needs
- Develop and execute an annual sales plan for the region
- Collect, analyze, and present field sales data to assist with strategy planning and implementation
- Monitors market and industry developments at customers in assigned region against position of competitors
- Direct and coordinate activities involving the sale of manufactured products and services
- Communicates pricing and all commercial terms for business to customers
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
- Provide technical support to customers and work with Technical Service Managers and the Quality Management Department as required to add value
- Assist Technical Service Managers with trial coverage for product development and customer complaint resolution via data collection, and results analysis
- Submit accurate monthly sales forecasts by customer site and diameter to help guide internal production requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales, business development, account management or related field
- 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or related field
- Proven experience in building strong customer relationships
- Proven experience in building strong relationships with colleagues and Upper Management
- Knowledge of the Steel and Graphite industry
- Ability to travel
