Job Description
TEL's Technician Apprenticeship program allows you to earn while you learn on the job and even participate in college courses at no cost to you. With an on-site mentor to guide you, you'll have the support you need to excel in your role. In the classroom, you'll gain knowledge in electricity, automation controls, and mechatronics. Plus, TEL is a registered apprentice program within the State of MN, meaning you'll receive a nationally recognized credential upon completion, as well as college credit towards a degree!
Responsibilities
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
- Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
- Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
- Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.
- Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
- May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
- May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
