Sales Engineer - ECS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Maintain an in-depth functional and technical knowledge of McLeod products
• Assist in the research of previous custom programming work for potential upgrade customers
• Assist in ascertaining estimated scope of effort (hours) for custom programming requests
• Assist with quoting and organizing pricing on upgrades, new modules/services for existing clients and for new business opportunities with prospects.
• Maintain and evolve current sales estimating tools and processes.
• Co-ordinate with cross functional teams in gathering data pertinent to scope of effort proposals.
• Communicate with prospects and customers to gather additional information to ensure accuracy of the proposals.
• Review finished proposals and contracts for consistency and clarity.
• Coordinate and conduct virtual and in person discovery with potential and current customers.
• Draft discovery agendas and question sets based on business model of customers or prospects.
• Analyze discovery results and configure product demos outlining the best solution for the customer or prospects.
• Complete on-site visit reports detailing all time spent with prospects or customers.
• Attend trade shows and industry conferences as required.

Competencies: 

• Demonstrable prior experience: maintaining organization, providing exceptional documentation and multi-tasking while maintaining effective time management in a fast paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad range of customer end-users (professionals and non-professionals). Proven ability to communicate technical information coherently, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external customers, maintaining a customer focused, friendly attitude.
• Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively and confidently at all levels of an organization, including interaction with senior management.

Education/Experience: 

• Bachelor degree and/or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 3 years providing customers with software and hardware support.
• A minimum of 5 years experience using McLeod Software TMS (LME and/or PB). Additional experience with Competitive TMS products is a plus.

Travel: 

• Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
