Overview
The Consumer Insight Manager (CIM) implements consumer research and foundational product category and brand studies that are used to drive business, marketing, and product decisions across the organization. The CIM will be able to take inputs from multiple people/teams, exercise good judgment in evaluating/selecting the optimal research methodologies, and will develop tactical research and learning plans that achieve the desired outputs. This role will simplify data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies and/or work with the marketing and product teams to integrate insights into plans. The CIM will make it easy for cross-functional teams to access research outputs and will be the go-to resource for consumer insights at Tonal.
\n- Develop and implement research plans that provide durable insights to support strategic business, marketing, and product decisions
- Understand and work on complex issues where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Work with functional leads to apply insights to the product development process, financial, and segment models, go-to-market plans, and positioning and messaging frameworks to support trainer sales and member engagement
- Represent consumer insights on the Research & Insights agile team and in leadership meetings
- Collaborate with the internal UX research team to implement member/product-specific research studies
- Provide solutions to research projects in creative and effective ways
- Implement research studies that provide a deep understanding of consumer preference and purchase/engagement behaviour in existing and new categories
- Make the repeatable easier by implementing efficient processes and building data dashboards that support sharing insights across the broader organization
- Effectively collaborate with Product, UXR, Content, Editorial and Marketing team members to deliver on OKRs
- 8 years of related experience in UX and/or consumer research
- Effective written and verbal communicator
- Comfortable managing up and presenting to all levels across the organization
- Can deliver in ambiguous settings
- Embraces a growth mindset and can think outside the box
- Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Health and wellness advocate who values the intersection of consumer electronics and physical and mental wellbeing
- Extra credit: experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
The range of base salary for the position is between $155,400 - $168,200 USD plus equity and benefits. We take into consideration an individual’s background, experience, and location in determining their salary. This role is also eligible for health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and other additional benefits.
