Directional Drill Operator
Total Highspeed is looking for a full-time Directional Drill Operator who can work as a part of a team environment while spearheading the fiber-construction process by operating construction equipment and tools.
This position calls for an organized, detail-oriented, experience person with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill and other standard underground construction equipment.
- Sets equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding machines.
- Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.
- Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)
- Cleanup area post construction to county or state standards
- Work with an equipment Ground-hand to place conduit and fiber underground setting handholes and completing tie ins.
- Use equipment to install grounding rods and anchors.
- Ability to follow directions and instructions as given by management.
- Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor / lead.
- Reverse process to install product.
Qualifications
- Be able to operate a variety of digging tools (Experience with Vermeer machines required)
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities
- Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring device
- Have a High School diploma.
- Maintain a clean, courteous and professional demeanor.
- Be physically able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications), etc
- Have a valid state driver's license and a clean driving or safety record.
- Be able to work independently & efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Satisfactory results from a background / employment history investigation and drug screening
