WORKERS’ COMPENSATION COORDINATOR
Total Spine & Orthopedics is a multi-location, orthopedic practice that treats patients with neck, back, hip, shoulder, knee and other orthopedic conditions through in-office non-invasive procedures and minimally invasive surgery. We have locations in Melbourne, Titusville and Orlando.
The Workers' Comp Coordinator is responsible for answering incoming calls and correspondence, setting up new patient charts, scheduling appointments, obtaining authorizations, providing documentation to insurance carriers, and processing outgoing claims. Specialists will also assist work comp patients, nurse case managers, and adjusters with any requests along with our doctors, medical staff and billing department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer inbound calls from WC patients and insurance carriers to set up patient charts and schedule appointments
- Respond to communication from internal staff, patients, adjustors, and case managers.
- Obtains authorizations for initial visits, imaging orders and procedures
- Process, review and send workers’ comp documents, forms and orders
- Interact with claims adjustors to verify patients work status and scheduled appointments
- Maintain and grow relationships with insurances and referring providers
REQUIREMENTS
- One year Workers' compensation experience
- Experience with both in-state and out-of-state work comp insurance companies
- Insurance authorization and verification experience
- Medical scheduling experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
