Job Summary:
With a focus on our Core Values of Integrity, Internally Driven, Fun and Respect, the HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the employment functions of the company. Serves as a consultant to management and employees on human resources-related issues. Advises leaders on employee relations issues, legal and regulatory issues, employee development, and fostering a positive work environment. Assesses and anticipates HR needs and collaborates with divisional leaders to identify and develop solutions. The HR Generalist leverages best in class HR practices while partnering with business leaders and other HR team members to continually design, deliver and support the Company's people strategies and business initiatives while ensuring that business goals are met. Help to establish the company as an employer of choice through support of all team members at all levels within the organization.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate commitment and behavior aligned with the philosophy, mission, values, and vision of the company.
- Responsible for providing support and guidance to business unit leaders on fair and consistent interpretation and application of policies, in alignment with company’s values and operating principals.
- Train and coach business unit leaders on effectively managing employee relations in accordance with company standards as well as federal and state employment laws.
- Ensure that each division applies decisions, performance management and coaching consistently across all employee levels, as well as across the organization.
- Ensures compliance and consistency to HR practices, and adherence to applicable regulatory requirements at the federal and state levels.
- Responsible for various employee relations activities including but not limited to Progressive Discipline, conduct workplace investigations and employee and leadership training.
- Partners with business unit leaders on recruitment for all divisional openings including job description creation and compensation review.
- Serves as the dedicated and collaborative partner to their respective divisions.
- Conducts new employee onboarding, orientation for new hires and drives employee life cycle surveys.
- Provides HR customer service that is prompt, interactive and supportive to leaders and employees.
- As part of the employee engagement effort, assist with planning and organizing of company sponsored events.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR Leadership to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Research and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must demonstrate a high level of organizational skills, confidentiality, and integrity

- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook/Calendar, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Strong analytical skills and consultative abilities are required
- Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Education and Experience:
- 2 years of Human Resources experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred; must be able to obtain SHRM-CP within 18 months of starting the position
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as necessary.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move throughout office environment.
- Continually observe information/data both on paper and electronically at a close range/distance.
- Continually operate computer and other electronic office equipment.
