The Commercial Processor supports the Commercial Underwriting unit by keeping the flow of business requests, including submissions, endorsements & other policy related documents, moving through designated processes within the department.
This position requires use of independent judgment and pre-established procedures and guidelines to perform the primary job functions.
This role also participates in compliance audits and periodic user testing of product changes, enhancements, etc.
Handle a variety of commercial tasks including data entry, property rating, policy issuance, endorsements, and cancellations.
Responsible for prequalifying new business applications and renewal information for analysis and quote handling by the underwriter.
Support the Underwriting Unit in loss control tasks & compliance follow up, outstanding file documentation, and other general underwriting tasks.
Enter financial & policy / rating data into rating software platform.
Respond to and conduct regular follow-ups with agents / underwriters / accounting / premium finance companies for additional underwriting and billing information, applications, and various payment resolutions.
Process policy endorsements in line with authority or as approved.
Evaluate workflows & provide input on modification of same. Interact with I.T. and other Departments in the process of testing Commercial product changes & / or enhancements under guidance of management.
Run basic business analytics reports & other various operational status reports for department management.

Requirements : EDUCATION
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant work experience or training required.
CERTIFICATIONS
Completion of insurance education coursework INS 21, 22, 23 series required within 1 year of hire.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Write basic reports and business correspondence, present information clearly, and respond to questions effectively. Strong communication skills, active listening, and adaptability are essential.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
This role requires basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform addition and subtraction, multiplication and division including counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
DATA UTILIZATION
Compile and record data according to guidelines. Understand basic numerical data to help analyze performance metrics and identify straightforward trends for decision making.
REASONING ABILITY
Solve basic problems with limited guidance. Understand different types of instructions and come up with simple solutions.
Make straightforward decisions and identify obvious challenges.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Able to quickly learn new software and has a foundational understanding of relevant applications.
