Performs complex, confidential administrative work in support of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and the Human Resources Management Team for the Board of Education. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Board of Education’s Human Resources front office.
Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer, Board of Education.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related discipline plus
five (5) years of experience in an executive support role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a human resources and/or educational environment preferred.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated general knowledge of human resources policies and procedures,
Proven understanding of administrative operations, procedures, technology and systems.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionallly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements.
Proven knowledge of the principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize requests in order to determine the need for immediate action.
Excellent and confidence interacting with senior leadership.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills in interact effectively with senior leadership, colleagues, and the general public.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the front office in conjunction with the Director.
Develops and reviews office procedures, coordinating across Human Resources areas; implements improvements to increase efficiency.
Ensures quality customer service.
Completes, with attention to detail, forms and reports for the State Department of Education.
Assists with communicating the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements for certified staff.
Ensures the timely processing of invoices and expense reports for the CHRO.
Manages the CHRO’s schedule to ensure commitments are met and work flow is prioritized accordingly.
Prepares and edits correspondence, communications, reports, presentations and other documents.
Conducts researchsuch as research for certified staff, teacher tenure dates and Teachers’ Retirement Board (TRB).
Ensures the CHRO is briefed and prepared on meeting agendas, key issues, background data and other pertinent information.
Receives and responds to incoming calls, communications and visitors.
Manages or participates in special projects.
Supports the leave administration process for the Board of Education.
Facilitates requests for confidential information; including FOI requests and employment verification of certified staff.
Interacts with and prepares packets for Board of Education members including non-renewals of certified staff and negotiations materials for all instructional bargaining units.
Provides support to consultants and internal and external attorneys.
Provides general information in regard to human resources policies and procedures.
Responsible for the execution of the district retirement party and other special events as necessary.
Receives, tracks and acknowledges resignations and retirements for certified staff and administrators. Reports this information to leadership.
Ensures compliance with the appropriate laws, regulations and policies of all confidential Human Resources files including personnel, leave, and medical files.
Ensures compliance with statutory requirements for teacher tenure and non-renewals.
Coordinates meetings; interview committees and conference calls, develops meeting agendas, and transcribes minutes; files documentation and monitors necessary follow-up actions.
Assists with onboarding; orientation and coordination of training as required for certified staff and senior level administrators.
Prepares and distributes all vacancy announcements for certified positions.
Distributes and receives letters of intent for certified staff and administrators.
Oversees other administrative staff as required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Supports Town and Board of Education policies and philosophies.
