Community Development Director

Job Overview:

This is a full time professional administrative position that coordinates and implements various activities for the town. The Community Development Director (CDD) works closely with various municipal boards, commissions and community groups in planning events, public media outreach and keeping the town goals and objectives constantly in the public eye. The CDD works in collaboration with all local businesses to promote and grow the local economy. This position will supervise the Recreation Coordinator and is under the general supervision of the Town Manager.

Qualifications:

•Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, via social media, and in-person to small and large groups.

•Flexibility to attend meetings and conferences, community events, and local business engagements outside of office hours.

•Ability to collaborate and partner with professional contractors, Town employees, volunteers, the public, and other local organizations.

•Represent the interests of the town effectively and appropriately.

•Must be hands-on, innovative, energetic, imaginative, well organized and capable of functioning effectively in an independent situations.

Education, Training & Expertise:

•Considerable knowledge of grant writing, public engagement, organizational development, and interpersonal relations.

•Marketing and event planning experience.

•Experience working with municipal governments preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

•Supervisory experience a plus.

Annual salary range: $58,427-$68,500. FLSA Designation is Exempt. Pay will be determined based on years of experience. Detailed job description is available upon request.
