Field Site Manager
Job Summary:
The site manager will be in charge of all GSS field operations within the allocated site boundries. Site managers work on building, construction, or wind farm sites to ensure a project completes safely, on time, and within budget. They monitor and direct contractor activities from start to finish and direct and oversee various contractors and subcontractors from site preparation and foundation laying to the final touches.

Job Responsibilities:
- Labor Management
- Outline a daily required meeting on site before any work is performed. The Job Safety Analysis form will be used to create awareness of the daily duties, allocation of work, and any hazards associated with those tasks.
- Coordinating drivers, pilot cars, flaggers, and any other part of the GSS team to the assigned roles set by the project management team.
- Verifying hours worked to weekly timesheets for labor on that site. Managing drivers hours to meet DOT regulations on hours of service.
- Employee development, coaching and tracking growth metrics.
- Provide input to employee’s direct supervisor on wage increases, position changes, or performance discussions.
- Customer Relations
- Understand customer needs and communicate those to the directed party. Follow up to make sure needs are being fullfileld.
- Attend customer site meetings and field audits. Work with the customer to build on GSS’s relationships.
- State/DOT/FMCSA Compliance
- Understand operating rules and regulations for the state, town, and county that you are operating in.
- Verify all regulatory compliances are being met.
- If state, local, or county permits are required, check for compliance with each load and verify each truck had the neccesarry paperwork.
- Maintenance
- Validate equipment inspecetion forms, monitor for upcmoning maintenance outages.
- Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical, and electrical repairs to tractors, trailers, and fleet vehicles.
- Prioritize and allocate labor to repairs as needed, communicate with headquarters on needs for replacement equipment.
- Manage service center facility for a clean and safe work environment
- Daily Reporting
- Provide a daily report outlining work performed, hours worked, count of delivered components, any site requests or needs, and plan for following day.
- Get with the assigned project manager to utilize the correct form for the current customer.
- Safety
- Work with Safety Manager or QEC manager to ensure all policies and procedures are being
followed.
- Coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting employee observations, updating preferred processes, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits and attending safety meetings.
Job Qualifications:
- Extensive background knowledge in the transportation and crane industry
- Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations
- Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Education and Experience:
- Extensive computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Dispatch Software, Inventory Software, Billing
- 2 years in the transportation industry
- 2 years in a customer relations position
- Background knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
- Labor management experience of 5 people
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
