Job Title: Senior Manager, Development
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Job purpose:
The Senior Manager of Development is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. This role involves managing donor and volunteer relationships, organizing fundraising events, overseeing grant writing and major gift initiatives, enhancing the organization's public image to expand interest and support and leading the philanthropy team to achieve financial goals. The Senior Manager, Philanthropy will partner with the executive team, the marketing team to develop and execute the philanthropy development strategy, supporting our mission and driving sustainable growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive and execute the philanthropy strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to major gifts, board relations, fundraising, grants, events and corporate businesses.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for philanthropy activities, ensuring streamlined and effective practices for donor engagement, fundraising, and relationship management.
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to increase annual revenue goals.
- Research and identify new funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and individuals.
- Prepare grant proposals and reports for foundation and corporate funding.
- Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, ambassador families, volunteers, and external organizations.
- Organize and oversee fundraising events, including planning, logistics, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create compelling fundraising materials.
- Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising progress to senior management.
- Stay current on philanthropy trends and best practices.
- Oversee and manage the philanthropy department’s budget, including financial planning, tracking expenditures, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fundraising strategies.
- Assist in the recruitment of potential board members by identifying suitable candidates, supporting outreach initiatives, providing strategic insights, and fostering key relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years in fundraising or development, with at least 3 years in management preferred.
- Proven track record of leading teams and achieving year-over-year fundraising growth.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to plan and strategize 1-2 years ahead.
- Skilled in donor management software (Blackbaud, iWave), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled at building and maintaining connections within philanthropy and nonprofit professional groups.
- Experienced in grant writing and reporting.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments and medical settings, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Passionate about the mission, willing to travel and work flexible hours, and dedicated to donor and patient confidentiality.

Salary : $105,000 - $120,000
