Responsibilities
The selected candidate will supervise the performance and activity of the maintenance mechanics. This will include:
- Assign tasks to employees and monitor their activities; ensure maintenance area is neat and organized
- Ensure maintenance personnel are following all operational and health and safety procedures
- Supervise the preventive maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment
- Coordinate all major projects, ex. shut downs
- Manage the organization of maintenance shop and parts trailer
- Oversee mobile equipment maintenance i.e., forklift, track and back hoes and assist Maintenance Manager to ensure parts and supplies are in inventory
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
- Previous management experience is a plus. The selected candidate will work independently with little to minimal supervision and frequently required to multi-task
- Ability to read equipment prints; secure information from OEM manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and read, understand and apply common operational documents, SOP’s, and training modules
- The ability to drive a forklift and completion of OSHA lock out/tag out and confined space entry training may be required
- The selected candidate must successfully complete HAZWOPPER training (provided during first week of employment)
- must participate in an OSHA/HAZWOPER physical examination
- must have the ability to work occasional overtime and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
- The ability to obtain a physician’s certification to wear a respirator is required
- The candidate must have own tools and valid driver's license
- The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required
