Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The Driver Recruiter is an essential part of the success of the company. He or she is responsible for planning, developing, and directing recruitment processes and employment programs. Works with management to understand current and future workforce needs all while accessing conditions developing the most effective, economical, and appropriate recruiting channels and methods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Works with Human Resources and Safety to analyze risk to meet company goals.
- Works closely with Human Resources, Safety and Driver Managers, to assure information is relayed pertaining to new hire travel coordination and orientation.
- Keeps management well informed of activities, potential new hire status.
- Coordinates activities with Accounting Team, Human Resources, Safety and Operations Team to ensure accuracy with timely new hire orientation processes.
- Establishes and maintains positive and effective business relations with drivers and coworkers.
- Takes a proactive approach to ensure recruiting and leasing are operating at the highest standard.
- Takes a proactive approach to ensure customer service is at the highest level.
- Addresses any driver or lease issues concerning equipment or revenue with other departments for resolution.
- Ensure that all goals and objectives are met on a weekly / monthly basis.
- Provides weekly progress reports to management concerning driver headcount, equipment inventory and leases.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude.
- Goal oriented, able to work under pressure, prioritize and multitask.
- Self-starter, organized, detail oriented and able to function as a team player with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
REQUIREMENTS
- Common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with a variety of issues and deadlines as related to recruitment.
- Able to recognize, comprehend and maintain company hiring goals and objectives.
- Identifies potential problem areas proactively and recommends strategies to prevent or solve issues.
- A willingness to learn and great attitude.
- Must have excellent training comprehension ability.
- Meeting weekly/monthly recruiting goals.
- Make daily outbound calls to multi-carrier leads and manage personal applicant worklist.
- Review and process applications in a timely manner.
- Interview and prescreen applicants, order and review required reports and submitted documents while proactively identifying potential problems to recommend strategies to ensure DOT compliance.
WORK CONDITIONS
The Driver Recruiter will work in an office environment with the possibility of working remote. The standard hours of operation are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
