Description
The Diesel Technician/Mechanic is an essential part of the success of the company. You will provide accurate and efficient services to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty semi-truck trailers in a safe, reasonable, and responsible manner.
Essential Functions and Basis Duties
- Perform major maintenance repairs such as engine, electrical and other major component repairs.
- Inspect and test defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Keeps management well informed of repair status.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment
- Performing and ensuring high quality workmanship
Performance Measurements
- Takes a proactive approach to ensure his or her maintenance program is operating at the highest level.
- Resolves any maintenance or otherwise discrepancies issues daily by interacting with Operations and Safety Teams and other departments for resolution.
- Ensures that all goals and objectives are made on a weekly basis.

- Able to recognize, comprehend and obtain company goals and objectives.
- Identifies potential problem areas proactively and recommends strategies to prevent or solve issues.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude.
- Skilled in conflict resolution
- Goal oriented, able to work under pressure, prioritize and multitask.
- Self-starter, organized, detail oriented and able to function as a team player with minimal supervision.
- Limited computer skills needed (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to obtain Class A CDL is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Previous knowledge with Engine types: CUMMINS X15 & ISX engine, Detroit DDEC a plus
- Computer skills to set parameters
- Must have previous experience as a technician with the ability to display knowledge of diesel engines and repair procedures
