Position SummaryBuilds wood crates using blueprints (cut sheets) and construction-grade power tools and tape measure to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for logging in and out of jobs in Ops Center (Production planning system) and following production and safety protocals as part of a strong team
Key Responsibilities
Wood Crate Production
Safe use of construction-grade power tools such as nail guns weighing 20 pounds, staple guns, drills, grinders and tape measures and hammers to build various sized wood crates. Use of ladders when assembling the tops (caps) of crates.
Basic use of production software to tract jobs.
Building of bases or skids may be assembled on the ground and require crouching, kneeling.
Use of adhesives to adhere foam to wood crates when specified.
Specification Checks
Use tape measure to ensure the measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th inch.
Able to read, interpret, find and report possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors.
Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member
Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.
Housekeeping: sweeping and disposing of wood or foam scraps to prevent accidents.
Desired Education/Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Education, years of experience, knowledge, certifications, etc. necessary for the role.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
3 months experience in carpentry, construction or landscaping experience with power tools or motorized equipment highly desired.
Basic computer skills needed to log in and out of jobs with employee identification number.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) helpful.
Prior Forklift and Pallet Jack experience, highly desired
