Network Engineer (ArmorPoint)

Description

The ArmorPoint Network Engineer will communicate and collaborate with the Operations teams to assist in the management and maintenance of the network infrastructure with Trapp Technology’s various environments. This position will manage and service both internal and Client’s networking environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily support of internal and client IT network infrastructure via service tickets.
• Acts as a technical resource for internal and client projects.
• Mentors ArmorPoint Service Delivery Technicians.
• Performs in-house, onsite and remote computer and network services
• Troubleshoots traffic flows.
• Assists in pre-sales activity
• Participates in architecture and design sessions related to IT strategy
• Plans and implements network growth projects and customer driven projects.
• Develops automated methods to remediate and mitigate network events and minimize network operational complexity
• Evaluates client systems and recommends upgrades.
• Generates and takes actions on reports of systems health and performance.
• Contributes to or manages network projects as assigned by management.
• Drives operational excellence to improve network performance and reliability
• Documents client networks
• Creates and updates technical documentation.
• Maintains environment, procedure, and change documentation according to policy.
• Supervises or supports updates, backups, and other scheduled maintenance.
• Maintains release notifications.
• Manages tickets and facilitates customer working sessions if necessary.
• Participates in Trapp internal meetings and required trainings.
• Maintains a professional image and demonstrates an understanding of and follows all Trapp Policies and Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in networking
• Fortinet NSE4 required
• Familiar with ticketing software
• Experience with enterprise-level network design, engineering and administration
• Experience with common networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects.
• Experience interfacing with customers POCs to evaluate networking needs or requirements and explain technical terms to nontechnical users or stakeholders.
• Cisco or Fortinet experience preferred
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and policies.
• Ability to compose grammatically correct, concise and accurate notes
• Enhanced ability to interpret customer's description of problem, troubleshoot and provide solutions, summarize and document interaction
• Proficient PC skills to include Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Provides strong customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
