SUBJECT: Engineer

REPORTS TO: Lead Engineer, Superintendent, Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform and observes preventive, routine, and emergency service on building’s electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other miscellaneous equipment and tools.
TASK:
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be able to read and write, be able to follow oral and written instructions. High School education or equivalent preferred. Trade School education in mechanics desired. Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical equipment desirable. Forklift experience helpful. Working knowledge of installation and repair of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Physical ability and skill to use normal tools and equipment associated with the trade. Two years’ experience of maintenance or related field. High degree of ambulatory mobility to enable person to respond to any type of emergency situation or service call. Ability to effectively communicate by way of 2 way radio or pager system. Blueprint reading skills preferred. Desire for routine or repetitive work.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Must be able to work long hours in the event of an emergency. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to walk, and stand most of the day.
HAZARDS: Include, but are not limited to: neck and back strain, eyestrain, stress and related disorders. May be exposed to electrical shocks and burns as well as falls from ladders. Fingers and manual dexterity, motor coordination, color discrimination depth perception.
