Summary:
The Learning Pathways Manager is a visionary leader with proven experience in bringing vision to fruition. They practice vulnerable leadership while building a courageous culture. The Learning Pathways Manager will partner with the Young Adult Services Director and Young Adult Services Manager to design an inclusive, supportive and innovative new department that focuses on persistence in post-secondary spaces for young adults who have experienced foster care. This position will build a team of coaches to support post-secondary participants. The manager and coaches will build authentic, affirming relationships in which each participant's cultural roots, lived experience, and future dreams are nurtured and supported. The Learning Pathways Manager will work in partnership with various shareholders, design from best practice research, center equity and center youth voice. Young Adult Services is a division that provides transition-age youth who have experienced foster care with coaching supports to identify and achieve goals and is currently in a period of tremendous growth and development. As we move into our next iteration, the successful candidate must be willing to lead, tolerate ambiguity, disrupt systems of oppression, challenge to innovate, power share, and choose accountability over comfort. Centering lived expertise is core to everything we do, so professional or personal experience with the child welfare system is desired.
Essential Functions:
Staff Development and Supervision:
• Oversee team of coaches providing direct service to youth ages 18-25 with lived experience in Foster care.
• Responsible for providing an anti-racist lens for supervision and recruitment. Set values of social justice and youth-adult partnership.
• Lead team in consistent, accountable implementation of the post-secondary program model, practices, policies, and procedures.
Program Planning and Implementation:
· Participate in co-designing post-secondary programmatic arrays
· Identify, select, and implement or create a post-secondary coaching model specifically designed for young adults who have experienced foster care.
· Partner with the Tribal Engagement team to intentionally and thoughtfully build post-secondary pathways from culturally relevant and responsive practices on to address the experiences and needs of indigenous young adults.
· Provide post-secondary direct service to young adults.
Program Management:
· Participate in developing program budget, monitor budget monthly, and be accountable for operating program within annual budget guidelines.
· Ensure data is collected and reviewed through multiple lenses to disrupt inequities and look for programmatic growth opportunities.
· Lead monthly program analysis, discussion, and reporting- working collaboratively with partners to continually improve data systems and reporting.
· Participate in developing, implementing, and modeling best practices, program policies, and procedures.
Community Partnerships, Representation, and Outreach:
· Identify and procure program needs that support intended outcomes.
· Identify post-secondary supports in the organization and/or community, building durable internal and external partnerships.
· Partner with Treehouse Graduation Success leadership and Educational Advocates to build a strong post-secondary, young adult-centered transition process for young adults transitioning from high school to post-secondary spaces.
· Partner with Young Adult Services Coaches providing case consult, post-secondary support for clients, and post-secondary service array offers.
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience may include or can be a combination of lived expertise, educational experience, work experience, volunteer experience, and non-traditional experiences. Centering the lived experience is core to everything we do, so experience with the child welfare system – professionally or personally, is desired.
Required
· Two (2) years of post-high school education advocacy.
- Three (3) years supervision experience or equivalency
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility, compassion, humor, creativity, and bravery necessary to address the practicalities of a growing anti-racist program and organization.
- Knowledge of educational and community resources available for housing, basic needs, education, vocational training, and work attainment.
- Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities.
- Ability and aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment.
- Deep commitment to racial equity and social justice and ability to effectively engage in candid conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.
- Ability to thrive working remotely and independently outside of a business office while maintaining relationships with coworkers and managers.
- Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities
- Ability and aptitude with Microsoft O365 and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in business environment.
- Clear nationwide criminal background check and driving record background check.
This position pays $62,130, exempt. Treehouse also offers a generous paid time off plan, free medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) plan.
