Position Summary: 

The Human Resources Generalist works on day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department. Responsible for the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs. May carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HRIS, leave of absence, policies and procedures, on-boarding/recruiting, benefits, HR system support, timekeeping/payroll support, and other HR related functions.   

 

Major Position Responsibilities:

  • Administers leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA)
  • Maintains HR information systems including employee data, benefits, pay, and other information
  • Enters Personnel Actions into the HRIS system including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, and status changes.
  • Audits a variety of HR benefit data to ensure company data matches third party administrator data.
  • Works with Timekeeping and Payroll systems
  • Updates HR policies based on changes in the law and changes in company procedures.
  • Researches and resolves discrepancies in the HR system
  • Runs and distributes monthly and ad hoc reports 8. Assists employees with HR related questions on phone and in-person
  • Completes verifications of employment requests for current and former employees (personal loan applications, etc.).
  • May conduct employment background checks, license and OIG/EPLS verifications.
  • Provides back-up support to other roles within Human Resources as required
  • Assists with company employee communications
  • Assists with benefits administration
  • Assists with other employee services and employee questions
  • The Human Resources Generalist assumes other assigned HR responsibilities

 

Qualifications:    

  • Three years HR experience, required
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll systems, required
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices, required
  • Experience in the administration of benefits programs and other Human Resources programs, preferred
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping, required
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent, required

Certifications: 

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work. 

 

*Salary/Hourly wage range for this position is posted.  Actual pay will be determined based on verified experience as well as internal equity.
