PRINCIPAL JOB SUMMARY:
Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative educational leader to serve as its next High School Principal. The next Principal must possess a compelling vision for the future of secondary vocational education, a strong ability to lead, collaborate and inspire the faculty and students at Tri-County, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, equity and inclusion in service to our diverse student population.
The Building Principal is responsible for providing educational and instructional leadership to a school community that prides itself on educational excellence and equity through the development and implementation of strong and innovative curricular programs, the planning and provision of high quality professional development, and the development and maintenance of a budget that is fiscally responsible and supports the district’s core values, mission and vision.
The Principal will work to ensure and maintains a bias-free school environment that prevents discrimination based on a person’s national origin, race, color, religion, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation, homelessness, military status, by promoting the learning and growth of all students through ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS:
Ensure that curriculum is designed and delivered in accordance with state and district expectations
Use data to improve outcomes and guide decision-making
Provide timely evaluation of all members of the staff
Promote the implementation, utilization, review, and replacement of instructional technology in order to support student achievement
Ensure that all required federal and state reporting is submitted to in a timely manner
Promote and support programs that help students acquire a positive civic identity
Ensure that testing is administered according to the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Promote the personal and professional growth of teachers, staff, and administrators
Collaborate with the administrative team and stakeholder groups to develop/review the District School Improvement Plan and District Strategic Plan
Supervise the day-to-day operation and management of the school facility
Serve in the capacity of Acting Superintendent-Director in the absence of the Superintendent-Director
Make decisions regarding hiring, termination, discipline, and employment status of personnel
Conduct student disciplinary hearings as required
Oversee the production of the master schedule and calendar
Collaborate with Administrators to identify and access grant resources
Oversee the revision of the Program of Studies, Student Handbook, etc.
Assists in the preparation of the school budget
Oversee student credentialing and competency tracking
Continuously strengthen and support relationships between school and home
Oversee School Council including setting agendas and running meetings
Ensure meetings of Program Advisory Committees and the General Advisory Committee
Supervise special events involving Tri-County teachers and students
Oversee and document all federally-mandated in-service activities
