JOB SUMMARY:
Position and secure steel bars or rebar in concrete forms reinforcing concrete and perform a variety of concrete
casting type task, while adhering to the Company’s operational and safety policies, procedures and work rules.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential job functions include:
- Determining quantities, sizes, shapes and locations of reinforcing rebar from work-orders or oral instruction.
- Space and fasten together rods in forms using wire and pliers.
- Pull and position and secure steel rebar, cables in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines or hand tools.
- Cut rebar rods using metal shears, saws, or bar cutters.
- Place spacers blocks under rebar for proper positioning.
- Pack, spread, or press concrete, liquid plastic, or other materials into or around models or molds.
- Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed, set, and fastened.
- Inspect and test concrete cylinders.
- Operate various concrete and casting tools, including concrete vibrator, grinders and rotary hammer.
- Clean and prepare casting sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools.
- Position or dismantle forms/cast for pouring concrete.
- Set and prepare rigging for loading of materials on overhead cranes.
- Patch broken edges or fractures.
- Trim or remove excess material, using scrapers, grinders, or saws.
- Attend safety trainings as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for the position of General Laborer, the following criteria must be met:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience and/or Certifications can substitute for education.
- Communication – both oral and written skills required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
