The Role

A Short-Haul Truck Driver at Price Container participates in our daily warehouse operations. Responsibilities include performing a variety of duties, picking up and delivering orders, and using strong customer service skills when interacting with customers and our sales team. The goal is to offer our customers world class service and support.

List of truck driver duties:

• Perform various warehouse duties to receive and verify incoming materials, maintain stock areas, prepare sales orders, pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies. Verify merchandise and ensure accuracy.
• Work from a daily schedule, work orders, verbal and written instructions.
• Use motor truck, hand and mobile lift equipment, simple hand and power tools, weighing scales, postage meters.
• Operate company vehicle to pick up and deliver orders, equipment as required. Sort assignments and arrange most efficient route.
• Comply with EDL procedures.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain clean driving record.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions as well as collect signed delivery ticket.

Performs all other related duties as assigned - this will lead to learning new skills, growing in your position and can lead to a higher level. Regardless of your job position, your “role” as a team member requires all employees at Price Container to step in and help where and when they are needed.

List of truck driver requirements:

• 1 yr. proven customer service / warehouse experience
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Basic understanding of the mechanics of a vehicle.
• Basic computer skills, accurate data entry skills, math & mechanical aptitude, basic reading skills
• Use of proper English grammar, written and verbal
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR)
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend and regular lifting of 50 lbs. or more
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-year clean MVR
• Forklift License
• Self-Motivated

We will be hosting sessions from 9:00am to 1:00pm, please keep this in mind when planning your arrival time.
