We are seeking a Controller, North America to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. The Controller is responsible for all finance and accounting functions of the company, across three defined but related businesses, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial reporting, tax, and audit. This position processes payroll and works directly with human resources for HR related items that arise. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who wants to be a part of a growing and upwardly mobile team. This is a full time, exempt position for a financial executive professional who is looking for a long-term career opportunity.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Keeps the internal books and prepares monthly management accounts including all ad-hoc reporting for various staff.
- Manages bank accounts and sends wires including international wires.
- Provide key management information and contributions to the business’s financial strategy and decision-making processes, including profitability analysis which requires monitoring of time tracking/hours recorded by employees to calculate accurately.
- Analize, prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial, budgeting and forecasting reports, and present your findings to the board. Manage cash flow projections. Prepare the annual budget with proper level of detail and support.
- Manages annual financial statement audit.
- Manages detailed internal accounting to dissect total number and hold employees accountable.
- Lead the end-to-end audit process of current systems, while acting as a point of contact for external auditors.
- Take overall responsibility for the management of financial details to ensure that legal and tax requirements are met.
- Review the financial reports and seek ways to reduce company costs. Work directly with client leads on AR collections.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree or master’s degree in accounting is required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the role of Controller in the financial industry.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Experience executing all aspects of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
- Experience creating detailed annual budgets, maintaining and auditing an internal control system for all finance functions while being the primary contact for independent auditors.
- Experience successfully coordinating preparation of annual tax returns and accurately.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite- Word, PowerPoint, Outlook with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Hands on Experience with QuickBooks or another GL software is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Experience with Bll.com, BambooHR Payroll, or any other major payroll vendor preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Effective self-management and project management abilities.
- organized with well-developed planning, analytical, and effective decision-making skills.
- to function in high-pressure situations with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
** Work is in office, 4 days per week, one day remote. May be required to answer questions, emails, chats on some weekends or holidays.
