Job Title: Export Specialist - Weekend Shift
Location: Dayton, OH
Job Summary
The Export Specialist is responsible for the timely and efficient export of international orders in accordance with the company’s SOP. The Export Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate export documentation to secure expedited release from customs. This role provides direct support to Order Management/Sales , Supply Chain, and Logistics. This position will ensure compliance with the applicable Trade laws and regulations of the United States, International Treaties and other related Organizations. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, resolving and troubleshooting customs issues associated with inbound and outbound freight, cargo transportation and delivery.
The Export Specialist is the primary point of contact for worldwide internal and external customers to provide guidance and support. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Primary Duties
Prepares accurate international documentation such as : Commercial Invoices, P/L, SLI, and all other required documentation related to specific country requirements as specified by International customers.
Create other export documentation in compliance with several Codes of Federal Regulations ( i.e. Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin, DGD, etc).
AES filing.
Ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations and Licensing requirements.
Interprets and screens orders to insure compliance with the United States Government Lists of concern.
Responsible for maintenance/administration of records related to the position.
Expedites and processes shipment and documentation requests from internal and external customers.
Quotes freight, lead time and delivery. Provides baseline technical information about export requirements to customers.
Provides general support to field representatives when required.
Direct involvement with manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing to foster better understanding of customers' needs and expectations.
Develop positive relationships with key account customers, to minimize and manage inventory levels, reduce/standardize lead-time and to meet the company sales goals.

Characteristics / Skills :
Expertise in all areas of export documentation.
Strong understanding of US Export Controls and Customs Regulations
Harmonized Tariff Classification and Schedule B
Strong understanding of Incoterms 2020
Broad-based knowledge and expertise which encompasses all aspects of order analysis, entry and account management/maintenance.
Fundamental understanding of customer services issues and products in a manufacturing environment.
Basic understanding of sales and marketing strategies.
Skilled in anticipating and troubleshooting problems
Skilled in working independently in a safe and timely manner
Strong organizational and customer service skills
Most be motivated towards productivity improvements
Oracle or other ERP system knowledge.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, written and problem solving skills.
Time management skills.
ISO processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Industry Certification preferred
5 Years of Export experience
Experience and knowledge on imports preferred
Experience shipping Dangerous Goods preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing / Warehousing environment.
