Manual Machinist Job Description
The selected Manual Machinist will utilize various types of manual and numerically controlled machine shop equipment (i.e. cylindrical and surface, grinding, burring, blasting, engine lathes, honing, etc.) to perform machining operations on materials including, but not limited to, steel, brass, and bronze to produce parts and fixtures to run production.
Manual Machinist Job Responsibilities
Manage the successful transition of new products onto the production floor.
Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs and other documents for production.
Design and procure tools/fixtures/ancillary equipment.
Validate parts for feasibility to process on existing equipment.
Perform process development and assist in documentation of manufacturing work
Execute prototyping activities as part of new product development.
Evaluate and solve program-based production problems.
Assist in preparing quotes

Manual Machinist Job Requirements
- Five (5) years related experience in production machining; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledgeable of machining and assembly practices, consumable tools and their selection, and fixturing
- Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees in a team environment
- Knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations
- Effective communication skills when presenting information and responding to questions from managers and production associates, as well as clients and customers.
- Proficient with a computer particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications; able to read blueprints and work with solid models.
- Analytical knowledge and strong problem-solving abilities
- Organized, adaptable, self-motivated worker who can manage multiple talks at the same time.
- Required to sit, stand, walk; occasionally stoop, kneel, and/or climb; use of hands to handle or feel; use of arms to reach
